| J. Godwin Perera |
is a former President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing of UK and is also a Fellow of that institute. He was awarded an Honorary Membership of SLIM in recognition of his contribution to marketing education having been for several years the senior lecturer on SLIM’s faculty responsible for preparing students for the examinations of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is one of the senior most marketing professionals in the country whose speciality is marketing analysis and planning, marketing communications and sales management. He is also acknowledged to be one of the most effective marketing trainers.
He is the author of two popular series of articles on marketing – ‘Taking Marketing to the Boardroom ‘ and ‘ Marketing for Non- Marketers’
He has served on two special committees appointed by the Government of Sri Lanka. The first to make recommendations as to how the apparel sector should prepare for the termination of the Multi Fibre Agreement and the second to make recommendations on transforming the Bandaranaike International Airport into a South Asian Hub.
He is the Managing Director of a marketing consultancy company.
Amongst the positions he has held are: Director Corporate Planning – Lanka Milk Foods Ltd; Head of Group Marketing – Aitken Spence Ltd; Head of Marketing – Bank of Ceylon. He is currently Marketing Consultant at Ceylinco Insurance (General ) PLC. |
