Mr.W.K.H.Wegapitiya is the founder and the executive Chairman of diversified Laugfs Holdings limited.

In 1980, he entered to the Management Faculty of University of Sri Jayawardanapura and graduated with a Bsc. Business Administration (Special Degree).
 
Starting his entrepreneurial journey in 1990 by setting up a small freight forwarding company in Colombo under the name of Freight Masters (Pvt) Limited. In 1995, he started Laugfs Holdings Limited as a pioneering venture in introducing LPG as an alternative fuel for motor vehicles in Sri Lanka.

His entrepreneurial success has been recognized both locally and internationally. In year 2005 he was awarded with National Gold award of the Entrepreneur of the year and in 2006 he became the Entrepreneur of the year with National Platinum Award.  November 2007, he was awarded with Asian Leadership Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurial excellence by Asian Grip Leadership organization in Mumbai, India. The enterprise he created, Laugfs is received many recognitions for achieving success. Laugfs won Gold Award at National Business Excellence awards in 2009 in the diversified category whilst it was placed at the 42nd place among 100 most respected business entities in Sri Lanka by Neilson company in year 2008.

Further, he holds an MBA from Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has followed a course on Energy Management from Oxford University Energy School of London.

He is the present Chairman of Chamber of Yong Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE). Currently serving as a member of the executive council and a director of Federation of Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (FCCIS) and a member of the executive committee of Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
