Kishu holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and is a Fellow of the same. . Before joining Chevron, he worked for Coca Cola for 11 years holding a variety of key management positions and has had foreign training and regular country assignment exposure.
He is the Country Chairman for Chevron’s Sri Lanka business operations and heads Chevron Lubricants Lanka Plc, a leading blue-chip in the country and Chevron Ceylon Limited (a fully owned Chevron company).
Kishu served on the Board of Caltex Lubricants India Ltd and was a Leadership Team Member of Asia Pacific Leadership Team as the only Asian during 2002-2005. He has won the regional Gold award for best business performance and many other regional and global awards and accolades for unique achievements in different aspects of the business.
He also served as a Director on the Board of American Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka and was elected as its President in 2003. Also was the Senior Vice Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK – Sri Lanka Regional Branch and served on the Advertising & Promotional Committee of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka as a representative of CIM. He is also on the Advisory Board of the International Music Foundation, Vice-Patron of the Institute of Automotive Engineers, Sri Lanka. He also sits on the boards of Cine Star Foundation and Outstanding Song Creators Association (OSCA), the two organizations dedicated to ensure the rights and welfare of the Cinema and Music artists in Sri-Lanka. He was chosen by the University of Leicester, UK to be its Brand Ambassador for the MBA program in Sri-Lanka.
Kishu has received numerous awards for leadership, marketing and corporate management. They include;
- Inaugural Best Young Director award by the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors in 2002,
- Most Outstanding Young Person in Sri-Lanka award for ‘Business accomplishments and entrepreneurial leadership’ by the Junior Chamber in 2003,
- Winning Best Business Leader of the Year 2004 award by CIMA Sri Lanka
- Winning two Entrepreneur of the year 2007 awards at the provincial and national level,
- Winning the Inaugural top three marketers award by CIM’s Sri Lanka Regional Branch in 2001,And,
- was conferred the National Honor of Deshamanya (Titular) and an honorary Doctorate by a Board of Trustees appointed by His Excellency the President of SL.
As a speaker, he has addressed many National and International forums on various topics and had the unique opportunity of addressing the Global Marketing Forum -2006 in Bangkok as the only Sri-Lankan and the Oil Exploration Technology Conference- 2007 in Texas, US at the request of the government to promote the Sri-Lanka's Oil exploration opportunity. He shares his knowledge and experience with business organizations, government organizations and professional & educational institutes with the intention of making the Sri-Lankan workforce a more competitive outfit in the new world.
