He counts over two decades of Marketing and General Management experience in both local and multinational companies. At present as the Group Director Operations at Richard Pieris and Company Plc. , his responsibility spans across wide array of businesses in the group which includes Manufacturing and Distribution, Retail, Export , Plantations and Financial Services.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree from the University of Colombo. He also holds two postgraduate qualifications - Diploma in Marketing (Dip.M, UK) and Master of Business Administration (MBA), from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMUK) and the University of Sri Jayewardenapura, respectively. He is also a certified Management Accountant (CMA) of the Institute of Management Accountants, Australia.
His outstanding achievements were recognized by professional institutes both locally and globally by numerous awards that include the prestigious Marketer of the Year Award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK, Brand Champion award from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, Asian Brand Leadership Award at the 17th Brand Asia Congress by Brand Asia. His outstanding contribution has directed his previous organizations to win many prestigious awards at the 19th World Brand Congress.
He is also a Fellow of the Life Underwriting Training Council of U.S.A. and a resource person for the MBA program of Manipal University India, Northwood University of U.S.A., Institute of Cardiff, University of Wales of UK.
