Lal is the Director Marketing of Lanka Milk Foods (CWE) Plc. He had his education at Royal College, Colombo and after leaving school, he joined the sales force of Lever Brothers Ceylon Ltd in 1966 and was with the company for 16 years. Thereafter he joined Maharaja Organization as Sales Manager and was with them for 4 years. Thereafter he was called to serve BCC Limited which was a Government undertaking as its Merchandising and Promotions Manager. He moved to Scan Imports which is a Danish Company as its Marketing Manager and at the time of leaving Scan Imports he held the post of Director / General Manager. In 1992, he joined Lanka Milk Foods (CWE) Plc as its Marketing Director and he is continuing as Marketing Director to date. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and served as Assistant secretary under President Mr. Sisira Jayalath. He is also a member of the Institute of Management, UK since 1993. He has been in sales and marketing for the past 40 years.
